Every donation, no matter the size, is critical to moving forward in our effort to bring world class fitness to Chapel Hill. Five dollars will provide us with PVC pipe to teach the basic lifts, fifty dollars can get us a 2 pood kettlebell, and five hundred dollars would supply us with a full set of barbells and bumper plates. Any contribution at all helps us reach our goal of creating a quality CrossFit facility at UNC-CH.

Help Along the Way

The general public has been very receptive to the idea of a creating a top rate CrossFit affiliate at UNC-Chapel Hill. In forming the club, multiple personalities tied to the University and to CrossFit Headquarters donated their services to help push through our affiliation. CrossFit UNC had Level 1 Certification, website design, and affiliation fees all waived for the benefit of our affiliate. The founding students of the club also donated upwards of 1 thousand dollars of their personal savings in order to fund this initial effort.
We have made a great deal of progress in the past year, establishing ourselves on campus, promoting CrossFit within the community, giving newcomers a grounding in the CrossFit methodology through Elements Courses, and running a range of group workouts for the whole campus to enjoy. However, our future goals are much more ambitious.
At this time we are working to secure a home of own for CrossFit UNC-CH on campus. This will allow CrossFitters to workout in an area conducive to the unique requirements of our exercise ideology. The campus gyms lack space and much of the equipment that CrossFit necessitates. The clutter of the cybex machines; the lack of rings, kettle bells, and pvc pipes; the insufficient pull up bars, glute ham developers and barbells will all be addressed by the efforts and fundraising of this club. However, in order accomplish any of these goals we need your support.
